hello everyone newbie here.what a great site!it's really partially restored my faith in people and our capacity to help one another.i am a electronic tech specializing in pro audio repair,amps,keyboards,mixer's, etc.now to my problem, since my knowledge is virtually all audio related i'll need a little help in tv world.i have a sony kp-61 that went into standby mode while watching a program.i unplugged unit from socket hoping to reset but to no avail.i began to examine the power supply board and found a faulty 6.3 amp 125 volt fuse not good news.i replaced with same fuse and as expected, it blew but upon further review i noticed the 2.2ohm resister that is parallel to the rvb 1506 rectifier got super hot.i haven't checked yet but i am suspecting that rectifier being faulty.any other suggestions on what to check for considering my circumstances?oh and where can i get info on the error codes?thanks to all you TV gurus out there for making life a little bit easier and when it's all said and done is'nt that what life is really about!best [email protected].
if the large current resistor is getting hot, I would suspect the rectifiers, maybe the bridge is bad. maybe the horizontal output transistor or the flyback is shorted. Could also be a problemis all in the regulator cuircuit and if that is the case the switching supply can and has ben a DOG to troubleshoot somtimes ! You should be able to download a free copy of a manual that is close enough to your set from techlores technichian's corner click on the resources tab on the home page and then on the technicians corner tap and search trough the service manuals, you could contact ptscorp.com and see how much they will charge you to rebuld th board just find thier phone number on the website and all thm and ask, I have used them for many of diferant boards that were dogs for me to fix good Luck.
thanks dillon for the quick responce.so you think it might be more than the just the rbv1506 rectifier?i checked your downloads but could not find one that matched my model kp-61hs10.did find one to be similiar but as usual no cigar.the components and circiut diagrams do not match up.do you know anyone who has the service manual i need?thanks and best regards.oh by the way if any of you guys need schemos for crest,crown,peavey,i can help just let me know.
