Sony KP 43HT20 convergence problems

I found this website because I am having convergence issues with my Sony 43" rear projection TV. I ordered from the internet the 2 Sonyo convergence IC chips and removed the old and soldered the new chips. All 3.15 @ pico fuses were good.

I still have the same problem. I have tried to follow the manual convergence adjustments but when I get the screen with the red, green and blue dots the pattern does not seem to change. I cannot seem to make the dots line up using the remote control. It's kind of strange because the picture looks good in the center of the screen but as you look to the left and right everything starts to get 3 D images and like a bow tie effect. I tried to adjust the numbered value by increasing then decreasing and no change.

Is there something else to try or some instructions to follow to adjust the convergence?

Hello! It sounds like one or both good chips you soldered got damaged after installation because you said you still have the same problem. I think you can't adjust the convergence as long as the chips are bad. Likewise, if the chips are good then you won't have a problem adjusting the convergence adjustments. I have the same TV and same problem you have so I wonder if you'll be kind enough to tell me the exact model no. of the convergence chips and send me just the convergence instruction portion of the manual, I will greatly appreciate it. My email is [email protected]. Thanks in advance.
