I am new to the world of DVD recording. I recently pruchased a SHARP DVD-R/VCR combo which uses DVD-R/-RW media. I have transfered a couple VHS movies onto DVD and finalized the DVD. The DVD will play back in the SHARP player however will not play in any other DVD player. How do i fix this problem???
Not all DVD players are capable of reading recordable discs, and sometimes it is the brand or construction of the media that makes it incompatible.
The first thing to try would be to try the disc in a few different DVD players. You'll probably find that some will read it, and others wont. Next, try a different brand of dis, and see if you get better results. If still no, then try an -RW disc. If not then, you may have to accept that your other DVD player cannot read the -R/RW formats, which means you may need to replace it with one that can.
