Samsung HL-R5067W reboot problem

Got a Samsung HL-R5067W DLP that has a problem with rebooting. Thing is if I leave it plugged in but not turned on for about 8 hours, it works perfectly. I can turn it on and off all I want and it will work perfectly all day, just as long as I keep power to it.  If I unplug it, it goes into a rebooting loop when I power it up. It will come on and work for about 10 seconds, freeze, sound stops, then the screen goes black and it reboots with the initial startup tones. No error lights and the lamp stays lit the whole time. I did notice one unusual thing in that should I turn it off while in it's reboot loop, using the front panel on-off button, it will hang on the last tone of the shutdown tones for a much longer time than when using the remote. Any help appreciated.
