For while, my Sony KP-51WS520 has occasionally been flashing red streaks on the screen then everything would be normal. However, during the last two days it's become more frequent then the TV just shuts off. The Standby Light is flashing 8 times which based on the manual I downloaded here (Thanks BTW) it is probably due to some audio component(?).
I took a video of the problem tonight. It flashed 4 separate times before shutting down. I replayed the last two in slow motion just in case that may help. The flashes are actually orangish in this video. In real life, the color is red. Sorry for the poor lighting and poor quality video.
I'm wondering if this appears to be a problem that I could fix without a repairman. I know nothing about TVs, but have put together numerous computers so I am somewhat handy. If this is a complicated fix, any estimates on the cost to fix is much appreciated.
