about 4 or 5 inches from the top coming down now. any ideas, suggestions, i have the TV apart, looking for anything out of the ordinary, but i am a novice.... THANKS!
never had this problem until the advent of High Definition transmission. Is there a connection. Just a foot note my son has a Mitsabushi and the same thing happened to his around the same time weird, eh.
Had that problem first and now the timer light on the front of the TV is blinking and the TV won't stay on. I've unplugged it and left it off for the night then plugged back in next day. It stays on for 2 seconds then shuts off and then the "on timer" on the front of the TV blinks....any ideas?
you are going to need a multimeter and the service manual. You should first check and see if there is a shorted vertical output IC. This is an indication, as you were having trouble in the vertical circuit. Next check the associated sweep power supply feed that feeds the vertical circuit for burnt parts or shorted diodes and capacitors. If everything is good there, you will need to troubleshoot the main power supply. This is not going to be a quickie repair. If you have no experience with what I just instructed, please take the set to a trained tech to be diagnoised. Good Luck, and let us know how this turns out.
