I have the WS-65513 and replace the caps on the DM board, 2 were bad and reseated the board (out of the shell so it would seat properly) and now I have no blinking lights and no power. Could it be that the mail power board is no gone? If so, does anyone know the part # and cost of this board?

ws-65513) I repaired this set

ws-65513) I repaired this set in Feb 2008 . It worked fine untill recently. When I turned it on there were horizontal green lines on the screen. Now the screen is blank but the green power light is on and I can pull up the main menu.I have tried the reset button. I hooked up a dvd player to no avail. I even tried connecting Dishnet with RCA cables to video input on back. When i replaced the caps in february i did not replace the IC convergance or any of the fuses. I pulled the DM board out and examined the caps and they look fine. Is there something else I could try. This has taken the family out of the familyroom.lol [email protected]Thanks

Larry,

Larry,

You are a very valuable person when it comes to this problem.

I have the exact same problem with my Mitsubishi 65" projection screen as Winslow has. I had a repair man come by and he said that my DM module and power supply is no good and that he needs to take it to his shop to fix it for about $750. I would like to know what I can do it for myself and would appreciate it if you could send me the directions on how to fix it. My email address is [email protected]

Thanks

Hi Larry,

Hi Larry,

My WS-65809 wouldn't power up. A few days later, it did, but now it's giving me a distorted picture both with cable and DVD.

My self-diagnosis feature shows two blinking lights... pause... then one blinking light.

Am I having the same problem as everyone else on this board? I have a friend who is an avionics engineer for a major airline who has offered to help me fix it. I'd appreciate any instructions if you can email them directly to me at [email protected]

Thanks!

I went 'round and 'round with

I went 'round and 'round with The company I purchased the set from (Tweeter).
The Chicago office was very helpful, and assured that my extended warranty was still in effect--having been purchased four years ago.

After speaking with the repair service, the insurance carrier, and a service technician in my region-- I left town on business and came back a few days later to find I had left the set plugged in, and the green light was not flashing.

It powered-up normally.

After unplugging it and plugging it back in, the light started flashing again and none of the standard fixes did anything.
These included: Resetting, menu/device press for 8-10 seconds.

Simply leaving it plugged in and going away for a couple of hours resulted in normal operation when I tried to power it up again.

My theory is that the set is controlled by a computer with hard-wired self diagnostic programming included. Whenever it sees a low or no voltage situation, it goes into the self-diagnostic cycle, which can take a long time to finish... as is the case with my Dell Axim pocket PC.

My mistake was unplugging the set when it appeared to me that the it suffered an electrical insult-- and did not give it enough time to self-reset.

I hope this helps someone-- and apologize if this information is too trite and simple-minded for the problems others of you face.
