I am having trouble with distortion of the right front channel of my
receiver. Its not really that bad at lower volumes but when I am
watching a movie
and turn up the volume, it gets really bad--almost to the point of
replacement. Although its relatively old, I really like this unit, and
dont have the $$$ to replace it with a more up-to-date unit. Any
suggestions???
THe fact that the distortion is effected by the volume control indicates that is stems from early in the system. This is usually a bad dif-amp section and is not very costly to repair. Figure on $5-$10 for parts plus your local labor rate. I will look up your specific model and try to give you more details.
