I have a ten-ish year old Proscan (RCA) PS27113 TV that just developed a problem. It now has a single verticle line in the center of the screen. I beleive the content of the image is fine, just some loss of horizontal beam control. Does anyone know what is likely wrong and how to fix it? Thanks in advance for any useful info...
This is faliure of the vertical output stage. We have customers that are fixing their old model RCA tv's..some 15yr because these sets are high quality and last a long time. I'm not sure about your model but would guess it would also be worth to fix it.

Thanks for the note. Is there any way you could describe what and where the vertical output stage is? Is it a single component (IC)? Is it a sub-circuit with its own pcb? Is it something that is realtively simple to indentify and repair/replace? I am a savvy ME/EE and have access to an o-scope, meters, etc.
I have the same problem with a PS32108. Let me know if you find out how to fix it - I'll do the same!
Thanx - JM
I've got the same problem and totally not tech savvy. This TV is about 11-12 years old.
You have a HORIZONTAL deflection problem. Likely c4402 &/or C4403 the box caps at the rear of the HOT heat sink. If bulged, replace them.
