I have a Philips 50PP920217F that when powered on the CRT that appears to be the red one is not lighting up. During research I found out that it is possible that it could be something simple to repair myself. I found something about the STK392-120 and found them inside the TV and now I dont know what to do next. I have one of those voltage meters but I am not sure how to check if that is where the problem is.
Go to Techlore articles (green tab above) and search for "tv safety" and read up.
Get help if you are not experienced with electronics.
Inspect the crt and boards below for coolant leaks.
If no leaks, try turning up the red screen adjustment on the focus block very slightly.
You may have to inspect the circuit boards with magnifier for bad solder joints.

Thank you, I have trying to find that. I have learned quite abit about the inside of tv's since my quest began. I am probably going to have somebody else do the repair, but I want to make sure before I get ripped off that it is not something that I could have done. Also, I have somebody who has experience soddering and repairing other devices that have the high voltage; however, he has never repaired a tv.
I found a capacitor loose laying towards the front of the tv. It was probably not noticed prior because the tv has now been moved and I am sure it fell towards the front during the move. I am now thinking that this must be the problem, hopefully the only one. I do not know how to locate where this capacitor has detached from. The capacitor itself reads "B0335 85(degree symbol)C".
What size/shape/color is this "B0335"?
Sound like you may have to may have to take out the boards and play Sherlock Holmes.
