PHILIPS MAGNAVOX MODEL 9P5034C102 PROJECTION TV LOSSING PICTURE?

MAGNAVOX MODEL#9P5034C102 / SERIAL#38704905 / CHASSIE#PTV835

CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH MY TV PICTURE SLOWLY CONTRACTING AND EXPANDING? IT SEEMS TO BE WORSE WHEN YOU FIRST TURN ON THE TV SET. THE PICTURE GOES IN AND OUT ON ALL SIDES (FROM A 48" SCREEN TO ABOUT A 19").   PHYCHODELLIC EFFECT:} . AFTER THE SET IS ON FOR 15 OR 20 MINUETS THE PICTURE GOES BACK TO FULL SCREEN, BUT THE VERTICAL SIDES WAVE IN AND OUT A SMALL AMOUNT?  I HOPE THIS IS SOMETHING I CAN HANDLE. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help in advance. Ken

Thanks for the help. I'm green so when I dismantle the tv set what am I looking for and how should it be corrected? I'm just trying to see if this is something that I can fix at home. Thanks again. Ken

Ken, this is not a repair for

Ken, this is not a repair for the novice.  Your going to need a capacitor checker and have a soldering iron and know how to work on Print Circuit boards, and if you do not know what a capacitor is or looks like,  No insult intended what so ever, but please seek out a trained tech to assist you in this repair.  A TV set such as this is no where for someone to be experimenting around inside of.  There is just way to much high voltage inside these things even when they are unplugged.  Good Luck, and keep us informemed of the progress with this repair.

If your screen shrinks and expands over and over or if you have lost the audio and video competely you may need to replace the opt IC chip. This is very common problem with this model.
