I can't imagine that any 16 years old is worth fixing. Unless you have some special attachement to this TV, or it's made of 24 carat gold, go to the store and buy a digital TV. You'll never look back.
I agree with Tie Guy. Sounds like you got a lot of life out of your TV and probably time for a new one. Unless you want to spend the money to have a service center look at it for you just to be sure, I'd take this opportunity to upgrade to a new set!
well you're going to say I'm crazy but it might be worth fixing. I work in a TV repair shop and recently fixed a RCA set (home theatre model)that was 15 yr old. It was in good condition so I replaced a power transistor and got it working. It has a beautiful picture and is working great. These sets were very good quality and last a long time.
