Hello!!!! Looking for you larry dillon wrote to you november of last year. My Sony 52in set had like spirograph lines through it. You were dead accurate about convergence issue. also accurate about something else. I sent my d-board out to sony mail in program and paid $150.00 I had read your statement that if one IC fails soon after the other would fail. When I mailed in the board I sent a letter in box for them to change both they did not. I figured to give it a chance since I had been without tv for 2 weeks. I am getting nowhere with them it seems on repairing this one on them. I have a friend with some knowledge If I were to get the STK392-560 and repair it with my bud just need to confirm some details on procedure. My friend said I would need some sort of small vaccum when you free up to solder to suck it up so you have a clean surface Know what this is called? also need somesort of white paste to put behind the convergence chip? What type of solder and best iron to use? Also is there any better convergence IC's to use Like an upgrade that wont fail? my problem right now is on the left side of my tv all images on that side are blurred like and in 3 colors blue-red-green if you could help that would be fantastic!!!!
USE STK392-570 its Better then the STK392-560 as for removing the solder use Solder wick Braid and the white paste is Silicone heat sink compound all can be got at www.mcminone.com the solder wick braid part # is 21-320 and the heat sink compound is 20-1975
