I HAVE A SAMSUNG HCN4727W. I HAD BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY DISPLAY: I WAS GETTING AN INTERMITTANT HERRINGBONE PATTERN,(NOT A RECEPTION ISSUE.) I LIVED WITH THIS FOR SEVERAL YEARS THEN I LOST BOTH PICTURE AND SOUND. THE RED LIGHT FLASHES AND THE SET MAKES A START UP SOUND, BUT NOTHING HAPPENS UNTIL THE RED LIGHT GOES OUT.
Samsung , Akai , Apex 90% of there problems are caused by a CRT Coolant Fluid Leak Check the Boards For a Clear Fluid sometimes hard to see until you remove the boards from the set .
ANOTHER SOURCE THOUGHT IT SOUNDED LIKE THE CONVERGENCE BOARD WITH THE STK CHIPS.
Yes it Could be the STK's have shorted BUT since its be a on going problem for several years Sounds more like a Small Coolant Leak The Coolant will leak VERY SLOW sometimes will take 2 years before fluid completely shuts TV down LIKE i Said Just LOOK at the Boards Very Close and if you see Fluid then thats your Problem BUT if NO Fluid then you can try and change the STK's
Thank you.
Can you direct me to a specific board?
I'm not seeing anything obvious.
I've tried replacing the convergence board with the STK's and it didn't help, still no picture or sound, just the flashing red light.
I also removed the boards and inspected both sides carefully and found no signs of leakage. Next idea?
any resolution to this? Similar issue on family TV. blinking red light, start up sound, multiple blinks (5ish) and then the set repowers...blinking light, start up sound all over again.
I unpowerd the convergence board and no change. A similiar issue in the past resulted in displaying a non-converged picture when I did this. Not with this TV...which makes me think something else is wrong besides the board...
