Hi,
My Dad has a Toshiba wide screen TV, and when we play a DVD on it, the screen splits in two, and doubles the video, side by side. How do I get it to show only one video image versus two, and why is it showing two of the same picture on the screen? The odd thing is, that when we switch it to the cable, it shows just one image, and on VCR, it shows only one image as well.
If you can email me with some help it would be greatly appreciated. [email protected]

It is just gmd with a little more information on the problem. The name of the Toshiba television is:
Integrated High Definition LCD Television
42LX196 or 47LX196 (not sure)
The name of the DVD player is:
JVC DVD Player & Video Cassette Recorder
HR-XVC33U
Thanks in advance for your kind help.
do you have the owner manual for the DVD/VCR combo ?
Yes, I have the owner's manual and have looked at it but still have been stumped as to how to get the split image into one image. I worked at it for some hours already without success.
I found the answer for this problem, and here it is:
A quick perusal of the manual (pg. 82) shows your "Progressive Scan" button on the front of the unit (or on the remote). Hold for 3 seconds to toggle between modes (interlaced/progressive).
That should sort you out.
Cheers
