Insignia has been no help in getting my tv serviced. I have also had no luck in finding out who actually made the model I have, IS-TvHD30. I am having trouble finding someone to fix this 18mth old $600 tv. I was hoping to find manufacturer so that I can at least get a repair manual to give to a repair service. On line search has been no help. Am I just s---- out of luck with this TV? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Marilynclaire
Marilyn, I am sorry for the troubles you are having getting your TV set repaired. Go HERE and click on the support link on this page and contact the company directly. I am afraid though they may want you to ship the TV set to them for a repair. Hope this helps. Good luck
This model, Insignia IS-TVHD30, is made by:
XIAMEN OVERSEAS CHINESE ELECTRONIC CO LTD
HULI INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT
22 HULI BLVD
XIAMEN, FUJIAN 361006 CHINA
Useless info? Uh? Seen that on a Wal-Mart shelf?
They made units for Insignia and Memorex. Even plasma TV's for Sanyo and Vizio.
This TV chassis is TJ306 (see paper tag on the top of the main board in the front right corner). Do a search for Advent Service Manual TJ306. Some sites will tell you that this Insignia model is the same as the Advent HT3061A; IT IS NOT.
Unfortunately, it's quite likely there are no parts available for that unit. Best Buy sells a lot of Insignia, it's their house brand, and they can't get parts for them.
What happens if a set breaks down after a couple of months? Is the customer stuck or do they get a new set from the store? What about extended warranties on this set?
If the unit is under warranty, labor or parts, they'll get a new set. If under a service contract, the same thing for the duration of the contract. If it's out of warranty, the customer is SOL. Best Buy had set up their Cleveland service center as an Insignia recovery center. All salvaged Insignia sets went there and the center would either try and repair the sets or repair the boards for other service centers to use for repairs. Considering that the Cleveland BBY service center is closing I doubt the Insignia idea worked really well for them.
Well I am going to highly recommend NOT to purchase any set from Best Buy for that matter because if they do not care for customers out of warranty, Best buy is NOT worth dealing with for ANYTHING. I used to work for a firm In Long Island, NY called PC Richards, We did our best and beyond to make service the number one priority. It was not sales that won the awards it was the after sales service 100%. I used to travel all over Long island and do in house repairs on every type of projection set they sold, This was also NOT board Jockey stuff, component level repair was all I did. I only had to have 2 sets pulled to the shop in a 5 year period! That's the 1000% fact! Customer service should always be number one!
