Just as I was preparing to trash my 5 1/2 year old Sony for the red lines that diverge at the top left and bottom right corners, my lovely wife came across this fantastic forum. I think I have a convergence problem and I need to buy two STK392-560 Convergence ICs and Heatstick Compound. I guess I also need a desoldering iron. Where do you buy this stuff, anyway?
All sounds great so far, but once I open the back of the projector I wont know what the heck to look for. Does anyone have an e-mailable service manual that will point me in the right direction? I'm not completely ham-handed, so with a little help, I might be able to salvage this baby.
