Proscan PS56670 56" rear projection

TV was mfg in 1998. I had a tech look at it in December and he thought there was a convergence problem. After looking at it he thought it was a "pincushion" problem. I was wondering if it was worth fixing this tv. Can someone let me know what I should do?

Those proscan TV sets have

Those proscan TV sets have individual convergence driver circuits as well as a separate power supply. Without troubleshooting the set, it is impossible to say for sure what is wrong or what board needs to be replaced. These boards, most likely are no longer available, but can be rebuilt by ptscorp.com. But will it be worth it for a 10 year old set to invest 5 to 6 hundred bucks into it? That would be entirely up to you. Good Luck!

Larry,

Larry,

Thanks for the reply. I have a fan running behind it with the rear cover off now. I thought it was probably not worth fixing. Too bad because it is really nice. Everyone is buying flat panels now, so old tv's are not worth much. Guess I'll try to find someone who wants this one for free.
