Could be a bad crt, switch the green neck module with either the blue or red. See if the color that flashes changes, if it does it is not the crt, if it does not then the crt is bad.

Ok we tried that & the color did not change. I dont know if it means anything but after the TV auto. shuts off a light blinks 8 times.
Green flashing crt is a known problem with sony projection tv's. It is the crt. bwilbert- i don't see that may distribution blocks go bad, especially when it is flashing green. 8 blinks is a loading error on the flyback, this can be caused by a crt intermittently shorting, you may even see a flash in the neck of the tube when this happens. or it can be arching to the metal cabinet around the crt. With that being said, the distribution block can fail, but i don't see it that much. i work on ra6 chassis all the time.
can a shorted crt be repaired i purchased a used one red and when the anode is pluged in i get sound and then it shuts off i still have the other crt assembly when it's disconnected the other two come on sound everything can i take parts from one to repair the other or should i just send it back and keep looking for red crt assembly

8 blinks usually means a high voltage distribution block being bad. It is the block with all the red wires in it above the D board.
