My 2004 Panasonic plasma has a 3" vertical black line that has just appeared on the screen. Does anyone know about this or what it means??

Did you ever find out what was wrong with th t.v? I assume it needed a board. If you know which board was needed I would greatly appreciate any info as my set is doing the exact same thing. I have a 3" black line running vertical just left of center. Thank you -Jerry
