Dead Sony KV-32V65

My tv will not "boot" up. When I turn the power on all I get is a click! The stand by/timer light blinks continuously. Tried the old unplug wait replug. Removed the back panel, nothing looks bad, even the fuse on the power board is good. No power problems or storms in the area lately.

I just ordered the "Dead Kit"

I just ordered the "Dead Kit" from www.fixyourowntv.com . The cost was $37.00. I hope this works, but at $37 I thought it wouldn't hurt to try.

Let us know what happens, but

Let us know what happens, but remember that working on a TV yourself is very dangerous unless you really know what you're doing.

The blinking on your TV can be interpreted by a service center to tell you what's wrong.

Thank you Ron! I will be careful. I am not a service person nor electrician, however I am a contractor/carpenter and have been in the trade for 29 years now. That does not mean I can do this, but I am very handy and I do know my limited capabilities. I will add to this post after I try this fix.

Ok!!! I received the "Dead Kit" from fixyourowntv.com ($37.00). I installed it yesterday and it worked! The kit included 2 transistors, 1 resistor, solder, solder wick, a little silicone grease, and good instrustions with pictures. It took me about 2 hours as I took my time. I don't solder very often, but have limited knowledge.

Congratulations EB, I'm glad

Congratulations EB, I'm glad to see you were able to accomplish this yourself. If you took any pictures of yourself working on your TV, the community would love to see them.

That didn't last long! The other noght my wife turned on the set and POP! I ran into the room and another POP, with a bright flash of light behind the set!

I unplugged it and set it on the floor. The next morning I went out and purchased a $300 32" tube as a transition set. Now I can think about a 16/9.

The repair kit was nice. I will assume that I did something wrong and we got a month or so out of it. Thank you all on this site for you help and wishes

Sounds like maybe a capacitor

Sounds like maybe a capacitor exploded...you might have installed on backwards.
