Thoese are crt's not bulbs. I need more symptiom information, does it have sound ?, what do you see on the screen, you say 2 are producing light, what can you see? on the neck of the crt (bottom half) there are small circuit boards attachted, they are called neck modules, try swithing the red with the green, and see if the red comes back, or if it stays green. You can have many problems. but since you are seeing emmisions it sounds like your deflection and hv circuits are working correctly. preform that test above and post back. be carefull there is high voltage around th tubes about 30,000 volts even with the tv unplugged.
ok i have very little sound it might be better if it was hooked up to an antenna but were the tv is my antenna doesnt reach if i can get the tv to work it will be replacing a tv were it can reach the antenna any way hes what i am seeing the light that i was talking about is the bottom or neck of the crt a very dim amount of light near the circuit board i swapped the 2 circuit boards and come up with the same problem the blue and the green dont light up enough to see any light from the top of the crt and the red still has no light what so ever i was going to try swapping the wiring but the wiring doesnt seem to reach from one circuit board to the next looking forward to what you want me to try next i really hope to get the tv working and this seems to be a fun learning project i just want to thank you for helping me
hello again i was just wonering if you had any more ideas i havent gotten any more post on what to do next thanks
Ok, if I understand you correctly, you switched the green and red neck modules around, you see a red glow on the blue and green tubes (this is the filament glowing or another name is heater) but the red has no filament glow after changing the neck modules. Ok if what you are saying is accurate then the filament on the red tube is bad, which will prevent the red tube from working. You have a bad crt then. But I RARELY see a bad filament. Somehow i believe you need to look at it again in a dark room. just to make absolutely sure there is no filament glow in the red tube. If you can verify that there is no glow with the other neck module on the crt, then you have a bad tube, but like i said above it is very rare for the filament to be a problem. At least in my experiences with Philips tv's.
question:
yesterday our picture on our tv stopped coming on we have sound but no picture what could be wrong
