My sony md walkman mzr909 does not record. it appears to record but when i stop recording it saves data and does toc edit,but when i start to play it does not play and says blank disc. It clears everything on the md.

I have this problem as well. There's a myth about how MD's only have a shelf life of one year or 16000 hours of operation. No one that I have talked to or chatted with has heard if these tidbits are facts or not.
I am curious on how to get the unit fixed, as I feel that is the most functional advanced Minidisc for live recording with a microphone. Does anyone know where to get these fixed?
I have two with the exact same problem.
