kp57-ws500 6 blinks

Hello,I have a kp57-ws500 projection tv which blinks 6 times then powers off.  I have pulled the A and G board looking for c515 and c516 but I can only find resistors with these numbers.  I also located the jungle but doe not see any specific IC.  I would like to repair the TV and my first thoughts are to purchase a new G and A board.  Would this be the correct shotgun approach to correct the problem?

If the light is blinking six

If the light is blinking six times, your problem is the 5 volts is low or shorted on the A or the B board.

OK, I guess I am trying to

OK, I guess I am trying to figure out the most likely cause of the problem.  In your expeirence do you think that the G, A or B board is the cause of the fault.  Unfortunatly I do not have the tools nessary to trouble shoot these boards.

This is a hard one to

This is a hard one to troubleshoot, because it is a loading problem. and you can't measure anything with a loading problem. Because everything measures bad. In this situation i try the "B" board first, this usually is the problem board. if this does not fix it i will try "A" board, But i can send an un-used board back for credit. You may not be able to send the board back , and get stuck with a board you don't need. i know this does not sound very technical, but this is how i handle this problem because tracking down the source of the loading can be very time consuming and un productive. you have to systematically cut traces or pull jumpers to find the loading problem. if you plan to trouble-shoot this you will have to have the manual, and a good understanding of this method of trouble-shooting, i avoid this method as often as i can because of the tedious and time consuming nature of it.

I received the new B board

I received the new B board from Sears today and installed it onto the A board.  After installing I checked the cable connections to make sure that everything was plugged in correctly and powered on the TV.....

Blast.... The TV turned on and started blinking 6 times again.  I asume now that the problem is not on the B board but with the A board.  If anyone is familar with how to repair this board I would love the info, if not I will order A board next week and try again.

As always thanks for your help

PLEASE HELP!!!!I received the

PLEASE HELP!!!!I received the new A board this afternoon and installed it with the new B board I received a couple of weeks ago.  Once again I powered the TV on and it failed with the 6 blinks.  What do I do now, is it worth salvaging?  Should I try to replace the G board, how do I test the G board?

I also want to add that I

I also want to add that I broke out the meter and read a solid 5v on cn5001 which carries the 5V standby current.  The is a constant 5V DC even if the TV is not turned off.  I then placed my meter on CN5003 to read the -5V but when the TV is turned on I see nothing on my analog meter.

 Any Ideas?

I am sorry to hear that you

I am sorry to hear that you are have allot of trouble with this set, the 6 blink is a tough problem.  Can you send the a and b boards back? - i hope so. you can try the "D" board that would be a potential for 6 blink as well. But like i said above, there is no easy single fix for  6 blink. I usaly have to realy get into the troublshooting with this one.
