Hello all,
I have a Sony KP-61HS10 that keeps having convergance issues and the waranty is almost up. They have come and fix my TV 3 times in the past 4 years and will be coming to fix it again in a week. Two of those three times they just adjusted the convergance manually but last time they replaced the IC's. When I bought this TV I got the extended waranty with it that promised if the TV required more than 3 repairs the TV would be replaced(No Lemon Guarantee). Future Shop is saying that because they only replaced parts once its only one repair and that they consider the other two repairs as maitanence. I have a few questions hopefully you guys could help me with.
Seeing as how the set keeps having the same issues (4 times in 5 years) should I try harder to get them to replace the set. Or is this problem really a maintance thing that needs to be done every year or two?
Is there a underlying problem that would cause this to keep happening?(This TV has not moved. It sits in the same spot it has for the past 5 years.)
Could someone please send me the service manual for this TV. If they don't give me a replacement I would like to be able to fix this myself in the future. My email is cadillacaustin @ hotmail.com

The first two times, was not a problem, because they were able to adjust it, that usialy is a wear issue. If they can't adjust it that is an issue with the convergence ic's. How bad is the convergence now, just off slightly or allot.
Now it is just slightly off (although sometimes it seems worse than others) And also it is worse on one side of the TV than the other.
ok, that is probibly just adjustment then not a part problem.
Last night a friend brought his X-box over and the convergance for 720p and 1080i were way off but 480p was only slightly off. Any clue whats going on there? I read somewere that when they adjust the convergance they have to adjust it on both the normal and the HDTV settings is that correct?
yes, the convergence is diffrent for each mode.
