Hey Larry can you forward me the service manual and repair docs so i can just dbl ck everything? Thanks again! ps is it a bad idea to leave the tv plugged in when i submerge it in the pool later?
I have the same blinking light problem on my Mitsu WS-65513. It has been going on for over 6 months now. It is driving me crazy. Can you please send me the fix directions for this problem. I would much appreciate this information. My e-mail is: [email protected].
I just wanted to post and say thank you! I am by no means an instrument guru and was able to complete the repair in about an hour and a half. In fact, the last time I picked up a soldering iron was in high school about 15 years ago. The TV now works better than the day I brought it home.
like everyone else, i have a mitsubishi ws65513 that has been blinking at me for the last two days. would really appriciate it if i could get a copy of the information required to solve this problem. thanks a ton!
Larry Dillon said: If you are handy, and can solder, you may be able to save about 700 bucks if not more. There is a very common problem with these Mitsubishi TV sets. There is a digital board inside these puppies called the DM board. A lot of times there are four capacitors that go bad inside of these TV sets. Sometimes, depending on how bad the capacitors are, and if the capacitors did not blow out anything else on the Dm board, you can simply replace these four capacitors and this will fix your TV set. The average that this works on is about 65 to 70 % of the sets can be repaired with this fix. The others are power supply issues or the DM board has other issues. If you would like to attempt to repair your TV set, I will send you the instructions on how to do so. If you do not know how to solder well, do not attempt to replace the capacitors yourself. Pay a pro to do this for you. After all you are already saving a bundle of cash. Leave an e-mail address, and I will forward you the fix with and without the light engine. And if the capacitors inside the board are not swollen on the tops, as the direction shows you what they look like, change the capcitors anyway. I have had a few that looked good but the capacitors were on their way out. Good Luck
Hello there Larry,
Wow this is great news to me and I am so glad that you are willing to help all of us whom have this unfortunate problem. If you are still sending info I would be grateful for directions and information needed to repair the DM board in my Mits WS-55513.
Larry, I have been waiting since November for a DM board from Mits. Could you send the instructions to me on how to replace the capacitors on my WS-65813? It I am getting tired of staring at a blank screen.
WOW, I am surprised you did not repair the set already. I will certainly help you out and send out the factory service manual and the repair documents on the DM repair on this model of set. Good luck with your repair.
Larry Dillon said: mhead and moneyaz, I will be sending the repair documents to you in a short while. Good Luck with the repair.
Like everyone else in this thread, I've encountered the blinking green light on my Mits WS73713... tried all the standard fixes, and am convinced after reading this board that I have the same capacitor problems as everyone else. Could you send me a copy of the fix & part numbers needed from Radio Shack. While I'm in there should I clean the mirrors or bulbs?
Has Mits gotten back with anyone on weather or not they are going to reimburse people to have an authorized tech comes out & fix this major problem?
No Don, It is past the Mitsubishi warranty period. A warranty is a warranty. Why should it be extended as you agreed on the one year when you bought the TV set. Do NOT use the Radio Shack Capacitors as they will work but will not last as long and probably burn out the DM all together. Order the right high temp type caps as desribed in the repair documents. Good Luck with your repair.
After I posted my request for instructions I decided to look around and I located the unit and the bad caps... Used some desoldering braid and now I am just waiting for my replacements so I can get back to business

Hi, I need the fix instructions bad, anybody has them please
My friend just go her mitsubishi 55 inch fixed. It had a constant blinking light and would not turn on. The guy said it was the computer so he replaced it and charged her 305. Was that a good deal or a rip off?
IF the computer was bad, those cost about 800 bucks, and you have to be authorized Mitsubishi to get one too. Although I cannot say for sure, but it sounds like he might have simply replace the 4 capacitors inside the computer or what we calkl the DM. That's about a buck twenty five for parts and $303.75 for labor. Nice deal for the tech.
I have replaced the 4 capacitors and it still friggin blinks. I have not retraced my steps yet but will do so. I replaced the caps with NCE brand caps and a fan. Do I really need the high-temp ones if I have a fan? Will the TV work without the metal box around the DM board? Thanks again
No you need the metal box arounfd the set or you will get interference. Make darn sure that the DM is seated all the way down into the main board. The best way top tell is to take off the metal case with the plug out. Insert the board fully, and install the case.
Hello Larry. Thank you for promptly sending the repair documents(ws-65513). About two weeks ago I replaced the 4 capacitors I ordered from mouser. I did not install optional fan. Everything seemed to go well and as I gathered a very anxious family around the set powered up! Well it has worked fine for about two weeks until, out of no where the screen continually went blank and then came back on. We could still control the Dish network box and volume but no screen. Bummer. I was so pumped that it was working and now this. Well any ideas? Should I try retracing my steps or pull the DM board and reseat it. Or perhaps my soldering job was subpar? I'm not giving up! Thank You
Larry, I did have sound. As a matter of fact all regular functions worked just no screen. After I unplugged TV the green light stops flashing after the minute. The screen goes on and off.????
