Hi!
I've search for an answer for this without success...
I have a Sony Trinitron XBR 27" (KV27XBR???) and everything went well since I bought it new around mid 1990's... But since a couple of weeks, things went for the worst.
2 weeks ago, I turn on the TV and it took longer than usual for the image to appear. 30 seconds, than 45, than 2 minutes and now 15 to 20 minutes. And since last week, the image started to "blink": On for 5 seconds, off for half a second, on for 5 seconds, off for half a second.
And this is going on and on... Even after 6 hours.
Is the TV dead? Or is it a problem that can be fixed for a reasonable price ?
Thanx for any informations.
The Pixture tube is deffective....try this out, atthe back of the tv,there are two knobs,I belive on your riht side, should say Focus and Screen,n the screen, control turn it slowly to the right side that will lower the screen, you should see some colours or retrace lines appear on the screen..then your Pixture tube is deffective.....I work on sony tvs a lot thats thei'r prob...

Thanx! I'll look into it this weekend...
Finally I checked and there's no knob on the back (in fact, there is no knob at all on this model...)
And now, the TV blinks faster... Gives me a headache... Don't want to call a technician yet cuz "maybe" I'll go for a brand new LCD TV...
BTW, the exact model is KV-27XBR26 (manufactured in july 1993) if someone has an idea on what causes this...
Thanx
The knob is not accessible from the outside of the set. You must take off the back and the control on the flyback is teh one you want to adjust. Turn the top control slightly clockwise until the picture appears. This will buy you time to replace the set only. It is not a "fix".

Knobs on the INSIDE.... Should've thought of that... Sorry.
I'll try it tonight... If it can give me a couple of weeks, I'll be more than happy.
Thank you very much!
