Panasonic CT-27D30B

This set has a vertical problem, as soon as you plug it in, it powers up with a thin horizontal line across the screen, it will not turn off unless you unplug it. I replaced the vertical output ic (LA 7838) and the electrolytic caps in the vertical circuit, I also resoldered most of the power supply and all the ic's but there is no change, all suggestions welcome.

You will need to trace back

You will need to trace back to the sweep power supply where the vertical gets it's B+ supply and check the capacitor as well as the fusible resistor and the diode. Good luck

I made a mistake, the vertical ic is LA 7845N (7 pins) and not LA 7838 as previously posted, could you say which of these pins would be where the B+ supply comes in.

This Ic is crossed with an NTE7167, but I would certainly recomend that you replace it with an original. There are two VCC pins on this IC, one for the output stage and one for the driver stage of this IC. They are on pins 3 and 6. Go HERE for a data sheet on this IC. Good Luck
