SONY FD TRINITRON: i have a sony fd trinitron kv20fv300 and it isn't responding to the remote (yes, changed batteries) and pushing the controls on the tv doesn't do much either. the only button that i push on the tv's panel controls that does anything is the volume (which works to adjust the volume but at the same time, with each press, switches the tv between cable to normal feed). nothing else does anything. so, i can't get to a menu to reset anything. any ideas? please.
The first thing I'd try doing is unplugging the TV for about 4 hours, thus giving it a hard kick in the pants. The hope is that everything resets to normal operation. Post back with what happens.

Hi, unplugged the tv for a few days and unfortunately there has been no change in its behavior. Any other suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance.
I'd say there has to be a bad circuit in there somewhere if the TV's front buttons aren't working either. Your best hope now is to call a service center.
