Hey, hows it going, I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I have an older model techwood stereo receiver system, when power button is press it powers up then protect pops up on the display screen, I was told that this could be due to faulty capacitors, I need to know how to test a capacitor and locate the correct one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
This problem is not likely capacitors. The most common cause of this "protect mode" is shorted output transistors. If you hae no electronics experience, I'd suggest you bring the unit to a service tech. We may be able to tell you the most probable failing parts if you post the exact make and model number.

Hey, Joe here. I have the specific info on the techwood receiver. The brand is Techwood DDR94A A/V digital surround sound receiver, I posted the early question on how to test stereo receiver capacitors, if it's not this i'd be open to any suggestion, Thanks for any info posted.
