While watching my "nice" Tv, it went blank. The only thing I get know is a small squelling sound that comes from what appears to be a transformer. The sound comes with a slight odor of burnt electronics. I Carefully remove the part from the mother board in which it was secured by 14 soddered prongs. It was located in the 12-RR area of the board. I Took the Part to a tv repair shop. The owner of the shop had an accent in his speech so strong that I could not understand any thing he was saying. I mean no disrespect what so ever but, I could not get the info that I needed. The one thing that I could understand him saying was "this part cannot make noise". But, he was wrong. The part I removed was the one making the sound, hot to the touch and smelled burnt. Please advise on my unidentified part ordeal.
I have the same problem. What did you do to fix your TV Eugene?
Hi Skippy, did you fix your tv?
Do you know something about this kind of problem below.
RCA Pix Tearing horizontal lines.
Starting problem Dead TV. RCA 32F530T, chassis ATC113CD4, year 2004. I Replace flyback # 257807 along with the H-O/P XSTR (2SC5148 original Toshiba).
> Problem fix. Everything work fine, except i have hatching or tearing lines at one or two places on the screen depending on the white level (contrast), always moving in half screen area on the top. Same symptom with video and RF input. If i lower the vertical height, tearing lines disappear. No error code in service mode.
>I replace the flyback 3 times with different part # and suppliers (not original RCA flyback, NLA) , 257807, 257805 and ACME-2632 (replacement for RCA #261163). Still have exactly the same problem with 2 tv set. I checked parts in the horizontal and vertical circuit, DC supply, everything looks good. Ear low noisy flyback.
