I have a dvd/vcr combo that I've had for almost a year now and recently whenever I try to watch a dvd, it plays for like 10 minutes and then freezes. The same with cds, it'll play one or two songs, and then freeze. The dvds and cds are all store bought and they work fine on my laptop and other DVD players. Any clue as to why the dvds/cds freeze up??
Help is greatly appreciated!

Help!!
Based on your description of the problem, I would be willing to guess that the problem is mechanical. Most likely, the laser can't track any further than an inch or so from center. You'll need to take it to a shop or get a new one, depending on how much you paid for it.
I have a TV/VCR combo. When you play a VHS tape you can hear the sound of the video, but you can not see the picture. Is this something I can fix myself?
I would say it is about a year old. We actually purchased it from a friend who did not utilize it. The VCR worked fine about the first 10-15 times.
How do you have the VCR connected to the TV set? Maybe a cable isn't plugged in right.
