My sony TV has lost its picture. The sound works but no picture. The memory light is flashing 7 times. I was told that I needed to replace a part# 875967030. On line I found the part for $22.95. It gave an alternate part # IC-MC23001DB. The cost for installing this part was about $400.00 est. I can't afford this installation cost. Is there a way I can find out where this part is within th Tv set? I have a very good friend who builds computers that can install the part. Or any other info you can help me with. If not I will let the Salvation Army take the TV. It's only 3 years old since I purchased it. Thanks!!
Unless a technician has looked at it i would not trust the diagnosis completely, Do you have a referance number ? That part is not the most common problem with that set it usaly is ic8002, but it could also be somting else. Plus a white fuse on the board.
Putting together a computer physicly is much eayser than replacing a component on a circuit board. It requires soldering skills, which a computer installer does not need to have. They mostly plug in their parts.
Thank you zapdbf for your info. My KV36XBR800 was looked at by a technician. He told me the part# needed was 875967030. It's too expensive to have him install it. He said the part needed was to give off a pulse of electricity to turn on the TV. Can you tell me what board this part goes on. Or what location within the set. Or where can I find schematics to show me where to install this part. Thanks Charger Fan.
Ok Here you go --- I checked the part number you supplied "875967030" on sony's web portal. that part is obsolete, so is the genaric number MC23001DB. These parts have been replaced twice over the new part number is "670581001" the genaric number is MCZ3001DB. This is the new replacement for ic8002 like i supposed above. I have worked on this model allot, and sometimes you can get away with just replacing that ic. but it is a better repair if you replace all of the following parts.(i am having trouble with sony's portal i will get the parts when it is working again) i usaly replace two transistors and that ic, and possiably a fuse if it is blown, i will get that info for you later
ok it is working again, replace ic8002,q8013,q8014, and if r8051 which is a fuse resistor is open replae it as well.
q8013 pn 872905232
q8014 is the same as q8013
r8051 pn 120293361
All of these parts are located on "D" board on the left side mid way back, the resistor is easy to see it is big and white, there are two of them next to each other, the transistors are on small heat sinks near this fuse, and the ic is next to these parts as well. The "D" board looking from the back is to the left there maybe another board left of "D" yet depending on the model.

My friend who builds computers for a living used to build P.C. boards. He is coming over Saturday and will pull out the "D" board and order the parts. My family and I thank you!
