My set has red in it, too much in fact. I have tried to take it out from the main menu with no success. When I adjust the hue, it doesn't appear to do anything. Can someone help?
severe color shifts, could mean that you are having trouble with a video driver, or jungle ic, or picture tube going out.
What you can try is to take the lower front pannel off of the tv, under this is a smaller pannel, remove it, and you will see 6 controls 2 for each tube, one will be focus the other will be screen. put the tv on a empty input so the screen is black, then adjust the screen control for one of the colors, untill you slightly see the screen turn that color, then back off of that color till it is just gone, repeat for all three colors and then turn to a regular channel and see if this has helped. This may only be maksing a deeper problem that will have to be solved but atleast it should get your pucutre back for a while.
two screws on the grill, bottom left, and bottom right. Unscrew them. Then pull out from bottom the top will come down, the controls are attachted to the grill but there is a connector you can dis-connect. but if you dis-connect this you can;t turn on and off the tv. i am not sure if the remote snesor is in that cluster or not. you will then see the other pannel i was talking about. you can try to manuver the front cover away from you but keep the wires plugged in so you can control the tv.
I managed to get most of it alive again by doing that and adjusting some of the service controls. Thanks fo the info. Now, there are some other adjustments I would like to make via service menu, but I don't know what some of those control. How can I get a service manual for this machine and can it be saved via pdf file?
i am try to find the part to fix the picture shadow problem i was told it is a convergence ic! what do you think on where i could get the part for the sony 53 inch kp-53v85 i really need help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
