I have a Sony that the manual diagnosis as +5 is overloaded or shorted or IC504 is faulty.
The tv turns on sometimes and depending on whether it is plugged into a surge protector blinks 6 times or an outlet blinks 7 times.
I have the back off the tv and was wondering if anyone has had a similiar problem and if the IC504 is a easy replacement.
Thanks in advance.

I have a Sony Wega Kv 32hs500 with the same symtom can someone advise me as to what could be the possible solution.
Thanks Brim
I have one in the shop right now with that problem, it usually is one of 4 coupling caps in the power supply(i usually just replace all 4 of them), but it can also be issues with the switch mode controller ic's. And it could be a problem with the A board. but the key is that it is intermittent and will work sometimes. this is a clue that one of the caps are bad. i am home now, when i get into work i will get the component numbers and more information. They are Mylar caps.
This is from a kv32hs600 but i am pretty sure it is the same power supply board, sony has used them on many models.;c6510 , c8027 - pn for both is 113049500 also c6532 pn 113774122, also c8030 pn 116595311. Replace these 4 caps and see if your problem goes away. this is just a shotgun attempt but it does fix most of them with this problem.
Thanks, do you think these are the parts for a 36" as well?
Jeremie
c8030 was a diffrent p/n but the parts dept may have updated the part number to a new replacemnt. the orignal number is 1-165-176-11 other than that they are identical

I have a Sony Kv32hs500 that has the power up issue, with the standby light blinking six times. I have contacted Sony and have been instructed to send in the D board, since new boards are not available. However, I have been unable to figure out how to take three connectors off the board. They seem to be high voltage cables. One lead goes to the picture tube, and the other two go to a pcb, they come from a transformer on the D-board. I woulld be grateful if someone would give me some help with this.
Thank you
Malcolm
You take the one off of the picture tube, but that one can have several thousand volts under the cap connected to the tube, take a flat screwdriver, and connect a jumper on to it, then connect the jumper on the dag ground, it is the braded strap around the picture tube, you will see a black wire connected to it. Then slide the screwdriver under the plastic cap to dis-charge the picture tube, then flip up the plastic cap with the screw driver and move the wire to one side and pull at an angle, the screwdriver can help. Don't pry straight up. On the neck module remove it from the back of the crt, and i cannot say for sure on that model, but there is probably a button or a clip you need to flip up. Just examine the socked and it should become obvious how to release this.
I bought these caps and lost the manual I downloaded, is there a place to download a free one or can someone give me a hint where c6510 , c8027 - pn for both is 113049500 are at, it looks like ?
I think I found the last two next to the transformer on the d board
I do not have this service manual in my files but you can get one HERE as a download. Good luck.
On the d board looking from the back, center left of the board, near the voltage reg ic's. The board has the numbers printed on them.
I have a KV 36hs500 that wasn't staying on. I replaced the MCZ3001DB IC + SOCKET - MCZ3001D 670581001 and now it comes on for about 20 seconds, then the picture seems to expand and it shuts itself off. Any ideas?
