RED SCREEN ON SONY TV

I HAVE A SONY KP51WS500 PROJECTION TV. I WAS HOPING TO FIND A SERVICE MANUAL. CAN ANYONE HELP. MY EMAIL IS [email protected].

I have a red screen on my TV after 3 seconds of being turned on. I was told that it may be a green jet or a red jet. I think they mean tube. Is it worth fixing

Possibly a bad crt (jet has no meaning), that tv did have allot of issues with the crt's, do you have a picture or just red tinted or is it blank with a slight red glow.  if it is just red tinted you could just adjust the screen voltages to balance it out. Depending on a more detailed description of the problem.

The screen will show a picture at first and then it will fade to all red. At times the picture will stay on for a little bit and then turn red. I had the back off it last night and the blue and green bulbs go out after a few moments and the red bulb is the only one remaining on. I am hoping some one can get me a service manual.

turn the screen up on the blue and/or the green tube and see if there is a picture or a flat raster or nothing showing up. the screen controls are located on a black box inside the front pannel, remove the front, if this is the tv i am thinking of, there are two screws in the front bottom left and right, they will be covered by a small plastic cap, flip out the cap and remove the screws the plastic panel should slide out, then unscrew the wooden pannel covering the front acces, under this is the screen and focus controls.

Thanks for the info. I saw that box from the back side last night, but wasn't sure what it was. I will give that a shot tonight and will let you know.

i OPENED THE FRONT OF THE TV UP LAST NIGHT AND FOUND THE BOX WITH THE ADJUSTMENT KNOBS ON IT. I PLAYED WITH IT AND I WAS ABLE TO GET THE PICTURE TO COME IN. THOSE ADJUSTMENTS ARE PRETTY SENSITIVE. IT ONLY TOOK A LITTLE TURN AND EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE INFO. I REALLY APPRECIATE IT.
