panasonic big screen.

i am in no way going to try and fix this tv by myself but i would like to narrow the problem down so that i dont get ripped off when i take it in....here goes

one day the tv just stopped working. if i un plug it and then re plug it in i can turn it on for about 2 seconds. the little red dot lights up and i can see a flash of picture on it. but after that two seconds somthing inside the tv makes a poping sound and then everything turns off. afther this happens nothing is responsive. i cant even get anyting to do anything, untill i unplug it and then replug it in.....the one repair man i have already talked to said that it sounded like the high voltage board.

any help is greatly appreciated. i can find out as much info about the tv as i can. like the model # so on so forth. just let me know

no when the tv goes out it acts as if its not even plugged in. nothing is responsive, and i know its not the outlet because it works with lamps and things.

assuming that you have tried

assuming that you have tried to press the menu button to see if the menu pops up. If i were the tech i would be pulling the back off and trying to isolate, my first suspect would be the power supply or deflection circuits. but as i troubleshoot that could change.

If you give me a model i can see if there is any bullitons out for this tv.
