I have a magnavox 15MF400T/37 15" LCD TV, 1 year old. Suddenly the bottom 2/3 of the display is snow, the top 1/3 is normal, sound is fine. Same on all imputs. Clear horizontal line separating the snow from the normal picture. I think the LCD must be good or else I wouldn't see the snow. Is this a mainboard? I can buy a replacement board on EBAY for $50. Is this something I can fix? I'm not sure what would take out just the lower 2/3 of the display, I would have thought the whole display would go out if it was a bad capacitor.
Nevermind, turned TV on after leaving off for several hours and now working normally again. Just hope this isn't something that will happen again. Will keep you posted.
