Sharp CD C250H

Hi guys

The problem is that the display is showing the error message 'er', tried resetting it but no luck.

A CD was stuck in the turn table, but managed to remove it.

Any suggestions?

Many Thanks

My only guess would be to unplug it and plug it in again. Perhaps you damaged something while removing the CD?

Most units will attempt a

Most units will attempt a startup sequence that usually involves resetting the loading mechanism to a known position.  If a CD was stuck inside, it is possible that the mechanism is now out of alignment.  This would prevent proper sequencing and failure of the startup.  This is often reported to the user by a message on the main display.  I would guess that the loading mechanism needs to be reassembled.  This is not a repair that should be attempted without a service manual as being off by one tooth with a gear could cause further damage.

'I would guess that the loading mechanism needs to be reassembled'

The CD was taken out by dismantling the loading mechanism. I think the CD had some grime on it which caused the problem. But the loading mechanism is stuck, no movement at all.

I'm glad to report the CD

I'm glad to report the CD C250H fixed, Thanks for your advice Dan / Jenn, I took it apart until I found the wheel that wasn't turning. I pressed the open/close button the tray moved out and the wheel started to move. So 'sequencing and failure of start up' is were the fault lay.
