I've got a 2002 Philips 55p8288 rear projection, the picture was cloudy so I changed the coolant. Now the bottom half has a green(sometimes green and red) haze, looks like everything isn't lined up, and part of the screen drops off the botom. What do I need to do to fix this other than calling a repair man?

Look inside the tubes. There is still a haze over the surface of the tubes. You cannot simply take out the fluid and change it without cleaning out the vessel where the fluid is. Also you need to clean the surface of the tubes. Simply look inside each tube and see what tube is causing the problem. You also may need to do a major alignment if the tubes or the tube mounts where moved in any way. Good Luck
Thanks for the reply. I cleaned everything with denatured alcohol then rinsed with distilled water. So I need to clean everything again? Can I reuse the new coolant I just put in or should I order more? Is there a "how to" somewhere on doing a major alignment? Thanks again.
If there is air space in the tubes, it will cause a lensing effect, that maybe what i see. if the tubes don't have enough fluid in them you can get this problem. Look in the tube if you can see a bubble of air you need to get more fluid in the tube. The way i change the fluid by removing the tube i am careful to remove all bubbles. It looks like it is in the green tube. it concave look to the distortion makes me think it is a big air bubble in a partial circle in the top of the green tube. I would use new fluid.
