Each time I turn on my Toshiba 51HC85 I have to reset the picture size to 16:9 (Full). Turning off the TV automatically returns the set to 4:3 (Normal). The TV is still under warranty but was thinking maybe it's something that I'm not doing right to lock in the "Full" size. Thanks, Warren
Are you turning off the TV set by removing power from the set, or by using the remote control and leaving the Set plugged in? It does not sound like a normal thing for a TV set to lose the memory of where the set was when it was switched off unless the power is taken away from the TV set altogether. You should call an authorized Toshiba repair center and tell them your situation and see if this is the norm for this model. Good Luck
Thanks Larry, I turn the set of by remote which I've done since purchasing 2 years ago. I'll locate a Toshiba repair center and see what they say.
Yes please let us know what you find out.
I received a reply back from Toshiba and it was an operator error. I somehow changed a setting in the picture menu from "Auto Aspect - Off" to Auto Aspect - On". The correct setting to make the picture size consistent after powering down the TV is "OFF".
