Other than lack of NFL Sunday Ticket (which I don't subscribe to) I don't see huge downsides to Dish Network these days.
What's everyones feedback on this? I got a chance to change the carrier so I'd like to make the proper call.

I like Dish, but thats only my opinion, BUT, Dish also carries more HDTV programming then DTV, and they have more locals available then DTV. Man do i sound like a commercial or what!!?? No I have a lot less troubles with the dish DVR's then I have seen with thoise cheap DTV DVRs. Built to last (LOL, Thats it for DTV, maybe a year at best, I had three DTV DVR in one year!!) the Dish ones do last, as I have one almost two years now, maybe time to upgrade. Like I said only one observation and opinion. Good luck and hope you make the smart choice.
I'm leaning towards Dish, but I haven't gotten a price quote from DirectTV for upgrading.
I'm adding a basement and will want 4 TVs hooked up to satellite (instead of 2) as well as HD service.
We'll see if DirectTV tries to rip me off on the upgrade - Dish offered to set up everything for free.
I have dishnet right now and the complaints I have had are..when I moved and upgraded they did charge an outrageous dish moving fee, they rebated it back but it took 3 months after new installation to get credit, I have had problems with my DVR, after having the same one for 2 years, and I believe they've sent me a used refurbished , that gives me even more problems. Also, I was disapointed to see they took away a few vital channels w/o any notice. But even with all that, I prefer dishnet to direct simply because of price, and anytime I have had a problem they are real quick to help.
with dishnetwor you can get two rooms for no extra charge with there dual tuner reciever.it comes in dvr also. way better than directv.
BTW...I ended up with DirectTV...after all was said and done.
It's been a good experience except for the video/audio sync issue I haven't figured out yet (HD channels are out-of-sync, regular channels are not)
Dish network tech support sucks I bought a system from them and now when I have a problem with losing satellite 119 they said to contact their instulation department and then I get disconnected. try someone else
Personally, I do enjoy both services though people have different satisfaction with what they think is useful for them. As I browsed over the internet, I came across with a topic which merely summarizes the difference between cable TV and dish network. You may find this link useful: Dish Network Vs Direct TV
