Greetings:
I have no problem using the TV set manually (turning it on-off, changing channels up or down, increasing or decreasing the volume, accesing the menu, etc. Its work perfect.
My problem, is when I use the remote control (yesterday, I replaced the original- one with a brand new control and brand new batteries, following the code set-up instructions).
But, I continue getting the same problem, when I pressed the remote control commands keys for: ( changing channels up/ down, increase/decrese tv volume, turn the set on/off, etc. the commands are not excuted about 95 % of the trials.
Would appreciate very much your comments on this issue.
Sylvania TV sets have always, for some reason, had a reputation for bad remote sensors or the power supply that feeds them goes bad. You will need to have this set looked at by a pro unless you have an oscilloscope you can look at the data signal coming from the remote sensor, and to look at the b+ on the sensor. Good Luck
Larry, many... thanks for your quick response to my inquiry, it is much appreciated.
After I sent my "post" I followed the instructions found in one of the forum links: "disconnect the set from the wall outlet for four (4) hours and then plug-in again. I did it exactly , but now the tv set is not working at all- no power. I checked the fuse and it is OK.
I guess the easiest way is to dump-it and buy a new one.
My palm pilot tells me the srt2219 remote transmits at 37500khz. From there I'm stuck.

steve, a preprogramed or universal remote cannot be reprpogramed with new codes unless you know how to pull off the eeprom of the remote and access the core and insert your code. these sre sall progrogrammed and when you push in a code you are simply accessing that code bank and accessing the codes that are already there. the only way to do this is what I said in the beginning or using a learning remote. inserting a code into a remote does not give that remote the code.
