We are having problems with our projection TV suddenly. I have been researching online and see posting about alignment issues and convergence issues. Are these the same thing?
Our issue is that the colors are substantially blurred at the bottom of the screen and a little at the top. The image in the middle is the best. Everything in writing a the bottom of the screen has a double image.
Is this an alignment or a convergence issue? I am ready to call for a repair person, but want some knowledge on what the cause of the problem might be first.
Can anyone help shed some light on this? Thanks!
Without a model number and make of the TV set, we cannot give you any specifics. But the problem you are describing does sound like a convergence Amp IC problem. I hear this all the time from peeps, asking someone who knows a little about a TV set. They always tell them to adjust the set, as that is all it needs. When a set goes out of alignment, and you can see that all the colors or one is off a lot, it is always a problem in the convergence amp circuit. the alignments are there if the convergence may drift out a little due to part wear. Good Luck and let us know what was wrong with your TV set.
