Popping Sound from TV Speakers

I have a Samsung 32" LCD HDTV (LNS3238DX) that I purchased 2 months ago.  Within the last couple of weeks a popping sound coming from the TV's speakers has developed.  However, the popping is not constant.  A couple of days can go by without any instances of popping and then it will start again.  The sound level also seems to dip and raise a bit too (not just at commercial breaks) during the popping periods.  The TV is connected to a stereo receiver, but the popping occurs without the receiver on.  When I turn the receiver on it just pops from the TV speakers.  The TV is also connected to an HD cable box.  With the box off and the TV on, the popping remains.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You should call the store and

You should call the store and see if you can get an exchange or have the set repaired.  it sounds(no pun intended LOL) like there is a problem in the TV sets audio output circuit.  Not a lot an end user can do.  Good Luck and let us know how you make out with this TV set.

I agree with Larry,  this set

I agree with Larry,  this set should be returned under warranty.  The fact that the popping only appears from the set's speakers indicates that the problem is with the audio amplifier circuit within the set.  This is usually a single chip amp and is easy to repair.  BUT, this should not happen with a set that is only a couple of months old.  When you bring the set in for repair, make sure that you indicate that this is somewhat of an intermittant problem.  If you don't, the initial bench test may not show the problem and it will be dismissed as a "no problem found" case.
