Bought this big screen new in 1994 and it's been reliable. Now when I turn it on, the sound is good, the picture is blurry but all colors are there. Then within 5-6 seconds, the picture blurs and turns white and the TV powers off. Can you tell me what to test or look at to resolve this.
You have a problem in the main power supply or on the main board. Open the back of the TV set and see if there is a stain or an oily substance unbder neath where the picture tubes are. The coolent leaks out of the picture tubes and shorts out the board. if this is the case, have it repaired right away my friend as it will damage the board and these boards , most of them, are no longer available.
