sony hd3

i just bought a sony md3 player and realized the software requires pentium and i have athalon. is there any thing i can do?

The "Pentium" requirement is

The "Pentium" requirement is not intended to be as specific as you, and many others, would perceive it. The Intel Pentium and AMD Athlon processors are both x86 based processors. Your processor is compatible with the software that came with your MP3 player.

It would be better if the package read "Pentium or equivalent".

I have also run across this

I have also run across this problem with the Sony Connect software suite. However, I was eventually able to get it to run properly.

First, visit the Add/Remove Programs section in the control panel. Completely remove all remnants of the Sony Connect Software and reboot. The next time you go to install the software, disable your Anti-virus software before you begin. Reinstall the software, and cross your fingers.

This worked for me at least, but no guarantees on your box. Give it a go and check back with the community. Perhaps another member has ran across this bug before and has a different fix.

once again thankyou. i

once again thankyou. i finally went where i should have gone initially, sony.com/walkman support.if you have windows update, security update program ms04-032(kb840987), you need to download a patch that they have on that web site.so you were right about the anti virus software getting in the way and now i can try to fill this 20g sob
