I am trying to re-program the channels for a friend's 1996 Panasonic TV. Previously the channels could be accessed by pressing channel up or down keys on the remote. The tv has capability of 181 channels. The cable is hooked up directly to the tv/wall. There is no cable box. It used to be that you could use the scroll keys to access all the channels.... now the remote will only go to channel 16 and then you have to manually input any channels higher than that. I tried to re-program using the "auto" as well as the "manual" feature in the setup mode but had no success. Any ideas how to fix this?? I unplugged the tv hoping that if it didn't get power for a prolonged time it might reset itself to its factory settings. Anyone have any answers/input?
If you tryed the auto program mode and it did not work, I have seen many times that the TV set was not in the cable mode, but instead in the Air or antenna mode. These setings should be in the set up menu on the TV set. If the set is in the cable mode, I'm afraid then that there is a tuner problem with this TV set and will most likely cost more to repair the the set is worth. Good Luck with this TV, and keep us informed of your progress with this set.
Thanks for the reply. I figured it out... I had to turn off the "favorite channels" mode and that allowed me to scroll to all channels. Thanks for the tips though!!
Glad you got it fixed! Thanks for replying
