Hi all,
ok, I have an Audio problem with my 5 yr old Panasonic 27 inch
model 27PS55 S321
Problem:
on start up audio is ok, after a few short mins, the audio is gone.
returns for very short periods (30 seconds) then off again.
no sounds are heard on power-up, (Boos, hmms, etc) just starts.!
Wondering if it is the speakers, and and a set of external speakers would do the job.? or can someone recommend a set of QA procedures.
Thank you.
it sounds as you have a circuit problem with the audio output. You nay have a bad audio output chip, or an component in the audio circuit. These types of repairs I'm afraid are not user frendly. If you have no printed circuit board repair or solid state repair experience, Please play it safe and seek out a local repair person to assist you in the repair of the audio in this TV set. Good Luck and let us know how you made out with the repair of this set.
Rats.. I was hoping to just buy a set of external audio speakers and solve it that way. Do you say that the audio output jack will behave the same way with speakers.?. If so, i will just chuck it and sadly, do the very unamerican thing......"Wal-Mart".!
Yes The jack will have the same problem if you put speakers on it because the Audio drive circuit is bad or there is a bad connection somewhere in the audio circuit.
Well, that's assuming you connect all audio to the TV, then out of the TV to the external audio speakers.
If you bypass the television entirely for audio (that also means you use an external tuner if you have cable or satellite), plugging your sources directly into your new audio device, then this will solve your problem without having to fix the audio circuit in the TV.
Requirements for your audio system
1. Receiver
2. Enough inputs to handle all your sources
3. A volume control
4. Speakers
There are a million kinds of external audio packages, from cheap to high-end expensive. All will work if you get the necessary components.
