I have a Mitisubiti WT-46809 TV I want to have dishnetwork with HD channels. Now i`am being told that I have to buy this Promise module for $200.00 before my tv will be able to display HD. the tv says 1080hd right on the front of it.
S hould`nt the dishnetwork receiver be all that I need?
Sorry my friend, that TV set is only HD ready but not an HD TV set. Some manufacturers will do this to sets that were made about the time HD came out or near to that. Yes I'm afraid you will have to buy the Promise attachmant.
I believe there's some confusion here. The WT-46809 is fully HDTV ready, and does not require the "promise module" to connect to HD set top boxes. The promise module is only needed for the first few generations of Mits HD-Ready TVs.
If you want HDTV from Dish Network, all you need is a Dish Network HDTV satellite receiver. There are a variety to choose from.
There is an input on the back marked as "DTV" It's capable of accepting HD component OR RGB signals at 480i, 480p, or 1080i. Today's HD set tops all use component video, so you'll need to take a trip into the TVs menu to configure that input properly before you'll get a picture from your new Dish receiver.
Opps ME BAD, I miss read the article on this TV set.
I recently picked up a wt-46809 1080 HD TV and I can't get any TV signal or DVD image to appear but I can see the setup menu, do I need an HD attachment or will I have to replace a circuit board or component?
